Summer is almost upon us, which can be one of the best times to be out and about in your car. The lighter evenings mean you face the least danger of driving in the dark, while the warmer conditions will be in total contrast to winter’s gloom, fog and icy roads.
That may be a good reason to get you heading out more, as will the wide range of outdoor events you may enjoy. However, this also makes summer a good time to get your car valeted.
There are several reasons to ensure you are behind the wheel of a freshly valeted car this summer:
- The amount of time you will spend in your car
- A clean interior will match a shiny, freshly washed exterior that gleams in the sun
- It will be more pleasant when taking long road trips on holiday
- If you have kids, there will be more risks of ice cream splodges
Research has shown that car journeys when there are passengers in the car tend to be longer (8.9 miles on average) than those with the driver alone (7.4 miles), meaning more distance, more time and more people, translating into more opportunity to drop food or drink.
Why Is Holiday Time A Good Reason To Get A Valeting?
This may be even truer in the summer as you take the kids on holiday or for long day trips. You might want to get the car valeted after the accumulation of debris over the previous few months, but equally, it might need work the work doing when you get back!
There is also the simple fact that food and milk-based drinks will go off faster in the heat, so the smell will be worse and there is more opportunity for bacteria to spread. This is also true if you leave anything in the car by mistake.
For all these reasons, summer is a good time to keep your car looking nice. It may be used a lot more and accumulate a lot more mess, but by keeping it clean and smelling fresh, it will be a lot more pleasant to be in and contribute to the pleasures of summer driving.
